History and Mission
 
Founded in 1994 in Yaoundé Cameroon with authorisation number 00085/RDA/J06/BAPP, the Cameroon Wildlife Conservation Society (CWCS) is a national Conservation NGO working with the Government of Cameroon and other conservation NGOs and partners on environmental issues related to sustainable natural resource utilisation and economic development through:
 
 
  • Lobbying
  • Capacity building
  • Environmental education
  • Policy and advocacy
  • Specialised research and studies targeting endangered and flagship species
  • Development of national and sub regional networks with other conservation NGOs
  • Support grass root conservation work with local communities within threatened ecosystems.
